Painting a Castle! on a graduation CAP

Hey guys, so I was commissioned to paint a castle, specifically the Disney California castle, on a graduation cap. This was for a friend, It took me around 4-5 hours to do the whole thing, for sketching to finished painting. It came out pretty good and my friend liked it. You could apply Gesso so that the cloth wouldn't absorb the paint

Yeah I thought of that once I started painting it, but since I was recording and I would have to do the sketch again, I decided against it... Though it would have been much easier to apply the paint that way.
