This is beautiful. Last night, I painted a loose style fox and I didn't like how it came out. I think I will try yours tonight. My question is, how do you keep your paint wet for so long? Mine is too dry within 20 seconds to do this, especially the charging technique you used here. I love the texture and color variation it adds. Are you using a blending medium added to the paints? Or, do you use water to stop and rewet areas like the body, before you drop new colors in? I just purchased a blending medium recently, so I think I'll try that tonight. I'm just concerned it'll never dry, and I'll have the opposite problem!

You might not be using enough water if it is drying within 20 seconds. But you can also reactivate your paints by adding water to it if its drying too quickly.. I also don't use any blending medium. I would practice using more water next time or you might need a new brush that can hold more water/paint. Not sure if that helps, it's hard to know exactly what is going on unless I saw you paint in person.

@@paintedwing Thank you! I was finally able to do some troubleshooting, and you were right about the brush size. I tend to reach for the one brush I'm most comfortable with, instead of choosing the right size based on how much water/paint it holds. The other problem was my paper. I keep trying to use practice paper to save my good cotton paper, but it's really pointless because the cheap paper just doesn't perform the same. Thanks again for your help!
