If you use porcelaine paint, that is made to paint on dishes, it will be microwave and dishwasher safe AND safe to drink from :)

What is the last material you use for giving it a nice glaze ??? Varnish ? Name please ?

Wow I just realized I never replied to you. The paint actualy has a shine to it. You can also buy a gloss ceramic paint varnish from the compagny pebeo.

what I was looking for! are they safe to put your mouth on to drink though? and is there a way to paint with acrylics and somehow make the color stay?

First, if you use the ceramic paint from pebeo, and cure it as the indications say on the package, it's safe, and resistant. As for using acrylic paint, I don't think it would it would act the same way. The composants of the paint are not the same and the pigments might not resist the baking prossess the same way.

It's a matt varnish by pebeo porcelaine paint. It's not essential but I wanted this mug to look matt :)

I don't know where you're from but here in canada you can buy it at michaels, hachem, omer de serre... any kind of craft or art store :)
