Hiya! Today I've got a new gouache painting for you! I talk a little bit here and there about what I'm doing/thinking.
I painted this tiger with Winsor and Newton designer gouache on a wooden canvas that I primed with some gesso.

Thank you! ♥ yeah, my initial sketches almost always have a potato like quality to them 😵‍💫 it's just that if I'm painting over top I don't personally want to spend the time doing a refined sketch, as long as everything is proportionate I'm happy 😊

just for feedback, Your art is beautiful! You did so well with painting with gouache. I have been trying to get better with gouache myself. I’m so curious how you got your gouache to stay creamy! Did you re-wet the colors in the palette, or did you add more paint from the tube? I use Holbein and it dries very hard and works like watercolor afterwards.

I'm using Winsor and Newton designer gouache. When I come back to using them I'll drip drop some water on the top of them and let it sit for a few minutes and then mix them up! I'm wondering, are you using the holbein acryla gouache? That stuff does dry out and it's not meant to reactivate, its designed to dry down like acrylic paint. If so, you can buy or DIY a stay wet pallete which will give them a longer life 😊 you can also use it for regular acrylic paints too, multipurpose who doesn't love that? 💖

Hi there! I use artist gouache, but it never seems to reactivate the same way! It’s a shame because I already bought the 12 pack, but I see that I’m more of a premixed color kind of person. I’ve heard great things about WN gouache and will try it out, especially for the warm tones you show in your video! The Holbein artist gouache just isn’t as creamy after it dries down. I will try the soaking method you described. I also DIYd a stay wet palette and it worked even with acryla gouache! @@ehvrart

Sorry, I've not used any gouache other than the WN + acryla ones! Hopefully soaking + mixing will help 🫠 I've seen some people add a little glycerine into their paint to help it stay ✨ juicy ✨ But I would definitely recommend WN gouache, I've managed to reactivate it pretty well even after not using it for 2wks or so! Wet pallets are definitely a game changer for acrylic based paint!

when you switch colors how do you clean your brush

Hiya! I used gouache for this painting. Gouache is water soluble so I just rinse my brush off in water and squeeze the excess out using a tissue, hope that helps😊Thanks for watching ✨💖
