this piece (and your work in general) would be so interesting interpreted as ceramic tile! underglaze behaves a little bit like gouache where it's matte and you can layer due to its opacity and still play with transparency. you can also play with different clay bodies the "underpainting" because the clay underneath the underglaze will affect its vibrancy/tone!!

At first I was liking the blue and then you colored it up and then I saw the final piece! Mind changed! That’s a very beautiful piece! Your work has common motifs so I see how people think it’s the same but it’s clearly not. You just live in a beautiful world in that mind of yours!

This is so real! I feel like when I think of an idea, I do a ton of thinking before I end up doing anything else such as thumbnails. So, my first idea is normally the one I go with, even after thumbnailing. 😂

I love that you keep all of your notebooks! I regret that my younger self throw those away bc she was ashamed! Hehe i love when we dive into your mind! I also tend to be the type to go with the first sketch! The prints are absolutely gorgeous, the colours are so true to your paintings!! Haha tbh i love when you paint with like calm music track this is basically asmr to me !! This is such a joyful painting, i love the feeling of brightness and calmness and warmth i get from it, it makes me very happy! I love the colours you used!! I used to have my PC background filled like this too dgdg now i just tick the box of "hiding icons" and pretend and im a clean desktop gurl! I do agree using a phone to vlog and stuff is very convenient and the editing process in the end is what makes your work "aesthetically pleasing" even if you have a lower camera quality (which?? tbh phones nowadays have really great image quality!)! I'm so excited for you to visit seoul!! You are going to love all the cute cafes, the food and the architecture!! Alright I wish everyone a super duper week

Interesting.. it took me a couple minutes to get into the groove of the audio. The narration I have is female and I have a preference for male voices (e.g. Harry Potter - Jim Dale; Artemis Fowl - Nathaniel Parker) but the story line seems really intriguing. Will report back 🫡 😂

hi Sha'an may I ask what kind of paper you use? I am using water colour paper and struggling to lightbox with enough clarity...

I've been able to lightbox on 640gsm paper, it might be that your space isnt dark enough to be able to see the linework underneath. When I lightbox on my ipad (like in this vid) i literally do it in oir storage area so its dark enough. What exactly is going wrong? I'd love to help but need more info!

hello, i just saw your favorites video and loved it - we have similar taste in books and games. :) tomorrow and tomorrow is a favorite of mine, i thought i'd mention some of my other faves since you were searching for similar. the nix by nathan hill is about a man whose mother left him as a child, and in adulthood he sees her on tv being arrested for throwing rocks at a prominent politician. the book explores both of their lives (and branches off into a few other characters here and there as well). but there's a lot of non-romantic love and it spans quite a bit of the main characters' life, similar to tomorrowx3. pachinko by min jin lee is a sprawling epic over 100 years during the japanese colonization of korea. it follows a whole generation of a family. sorry both are long books lol

#answermepeach hey sha'an! for a multitude of reasons I could not pursue design in any form for uni but I still find a lot of joy in designing and illustrating. for a while I was fulfilling my creative needs by volunteering my work for various events and individuals and I assumed these projects would help build my portfolio and help me get jobs that can actually pay for my work. however, my lack of education makes me lose confidence when approaching paid projects and I've also been rejected from many projects bc I lack that training. how do you build confidence in your work and become a more competitive candidate as someone who doesn't go to uni for design? thanks, I hope you're having a happy and peachy day ♡♡♡
