Do you have a particular base coat you’d like to start your paintings off with? And why?

Good question! So as a true “base”, I always start with a wash of brown acrylic paint over my white surface. Way easier to work with, and you can build up both shadows and highlights at the same time rather that struggling against the blinding white surface. And then I always use Burnt Umber in my base underpainting, easily one of my most used tubes of paint Hope that helps! 😊
