For future reference, the best way to seal visible welded seams doing auto body work is short strand fiberglass body filler. Unlike normal body filler, the fiberglass stuff is totally waterproof so it seals your welds but it's also reasonably finishable, and you can layer over it with normal body filler.

Heck yeah, I've been waiting for this episode! Coincidentally, I just had 2 cans of gray SprayMax epoxy primer show up today for rear end stuff I'm going to sandblast soon. Keep up the good work!
