Painting hair and beards - brown, orange and grey. Demonstrating the technique I used and also this video gives a specific colour recipe for the different hair types. The orange specifically is a stunner.
52 Miniatures - My tabletop gaming journey - I am by no means a miniature painting expert, or a crafting wiz. On the contrary - these videos are a collection of my initial miniature experiences. Most of the time, what you see, is me trying something for the first time. I hope these videos might be of inspirational use. Oh, and a certain basic knowledge in irony might be required by the viewer.

The best ones I've seen online that don't use a shade/wash. Great technique, well applied, and nicely explained with your awesome accent. Thank you for a perfect video for ambitious yet new hobbyists like me :-)

These are lovely models, and fantastic paintjobs to match! The grey hair in particular is really nice, you've brought out so much depth in a colour that most people would think of as "plain"

You make this look easy and approachable as a more traditional alternative technique to using contrast paints. Thanks for such a helpful video.

Big fan of the lack of sudden, constant jump cuts. And the hilarious look you gave with the pause for the unpronounceable names. You have some solid content, subbed and shared! I hope to see more!

Yeah! That was a win, dropping the jumpcuts. Saves me ages on editing to... I really see the marketing side of having “cool” names... but seriously.... “dark” or “light” before a color or maybe “sand” or “earth” type words... kindof makes more sense to me :) Thanks for the kind words and thanks for sharing

Great idea to use purple for shading the hair! I have two dwarfs on my desk waiting to be painted. Looking forward to try out your technique!

Lovley! I hope it works out well for you. I’m shure a blue / teal / turquoise would work out well also. Good luck!

Wow, the orange hair/beard is awesome. Especially next to the turquoise cloth. I am thinking to paint a purplish beard on a mostly red demon....what are your thoughts on that color combination? How could I shade that?
@52Miniatures
@52Miniatures 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know... orange :) I think it depends on the look. Daemons can bee all kind of crazy. I’d probably go a dark “teal”

I really love dark teal...maybe I'll use that colour on its weapon too to try to tie it all together. Thanks for the idea

Strap yourself in because your mind is about to be blown. The answer to your question re. Orc hair: they're born hairless, but as a status symbol can breed and attach lamprey- like hair squags. These grow long and luxurious fur and thus do games workshop orcs canonically have beards and hair.

Omg. 🤯 Thats epic. So, upper class orcs have hair, where as canon fodder orcs are destined to be forever bald. Thanks so much for that.
