Painting Cherries with Soft Pastels

I love painting food! In this video I'm demonstrating a pastel painting of cherries on sanded paper. I used mostly Terry Ludwig and Unison pastels for this, but you can use whatever you have available.
Supplies used:
*Fisher 400 sanded paper
*Soft pastels (Ludwig, Richeson, Unison)
*Isopropyl alcohol (or you could use water)
*Synthetic paintbrush

This is pretty! I love the colors. I haven’t tried using gloves when using pastels. I might try it. Is it still archival when you use alcohol?

Thank you! I use the gloves mainly because its easier than washing the pastel out from under my fingernails, lol. It is still archival when you use isopropyl alcohol; this simply dissolves the pastel into the paper and in a way fixes it so you can add further layers without blending :)
