I'm glad someone said it, money does buy happiness up to a certain point, anyone who says that is rich enough to solve most problems but then are faced with the problems money can't solve which are much more complex. Still I would definitely be happier if I had enough money to let my mom be treated for her illnesses and let her rest from work
@SenatorDodo09 Жыл бұрын
"money buy happiness" is one of those things that most people just misunderstand. It was never meant for people who dont have enough for basic necessities, it was for already wealthy people trying to find happiness through accumulation of even more wealth. Often these phrases get passed on and the original intention gets lost
@azpont7275 Жыл бұрын
@@SenatorDodo09 That's why any reasonable person would say that it is just capitalist propaganda, even if it has some merit. (That's said, that merit is there bc of the shortcomings of capitalism, so the propaganda part applies there too I guess)

@codycrawford7842 Жыл бұрын
I understand your point, that money buys material security and comfort. But there is meaning to life beyond that, and paradoxically having all your basic survival needs met can lead to a profound feeling of aimlessness because now you are left with time to fill... Doing what, exactly?
@j_a.0 Жыл бұрын
Money can literally increase people's lifespan, and its one of the leading reasons for increased or decreased life expectancy in lic or hics, saying that it doesn't buy happiness is just complete bs, when in fact it can buy years and years of more happiness

Dr K seems such like an amazing person, sometimes I fear watching his videos because I feel like I will fall down in the "I have that problem" spiral, but he seems like an amazing person
@griffindrucker5712 Жыл бұрын
Tbh, I don’t think those moments of,”oh, I have that problem” are that bad with his videos. A lot of them are problems that tons of people have, maybe most people. Unless they’re more specific to a certain disorder, or something like that. The way I see it, he’s not just providing advice to help with problems, it’s help with life in general. If you never realized it’s something you do, I wouldn’t call it a problem, I’d call it room for growth.

Yeah currently got back in the OTV Bubble, while also having a hard time finding purpose in my current life/situation. Seeing all of OTV and friends having a good time and living the life I wish I could live, made it even worse, funnily enough😅 But then I also came back to some of Dr. K‘s Videos and Interviews and he almost instantly made me feel better with my situation or phase. Would love to chat with him in person, he’s amazing!
@whitexflash Жыл бұрын
The good thing about Dr K's video is that after he explains why we think or do things like this he'll give a frame work on how to work on those issues we find in our lives or in ourselves. I'd recommend checking timepoints and seeing if that helps you better to skip to those parts!

So I heard this from a Short with Dr. K, but it seems the trick to good comfortable posture is having your knees lower than your pelvis; anything else feels weird and that's why we instinctively go into shrimp mode. I'd be surprised if Lily reads the comments, but I do really hope she knows she does make a tangible difference in the world through content creation. I can't speak on other people's experiences, but Lily was one of the first people who got me into League and despite what most people's initial reaction to that will be, I still love and appreciate that game to this day. I've gotten closer with friends through that game and found a lot of my passion Id forgotten I could have. But once burnout was setting in, I had like a full year of just feeling really lost because I had no clue what I wanted to do in life, everything was so incredibly terrifying. But after Lily's concert I felt so inspired, understanding just how terrifying and impossible that might've sounded for her 5+ years ago and seeing her confidence having grown. I'm still 21, and despite knowing nothing about her personally, from just the small glimpses of creativity and insight Lily's provided from herself, I really have learned that I can be braver but I don't NEED to force myself to change who I am or hide from my feelings. No matter what I do in the future, I want to ultimately just be comfy being unapologetically me. Thanks for even the silly uploads and for sharing the Valo despair, even if it's just an entertaining video it still can have a big impact on peoples' lives. It's too big of a scope for any content creator to truly see

I think I've unlocked the keys to my own happiness, and a lot of it is to do with appreciation. If I could tell myself that like 10 years ago I would of made younger me throw up and laugh, but once I figured out what I want to do, how to do it and make it affordable, life started to piece around my happiness rather than trying to fill a hole. I feel lucky to figure this out for myself, and what works for me won't work for everyone, but it's still routed in appreciation in some form or another.
