Please don't ever stop making videos. The quality of not only the videos but the paintings are absolutely incredible. You are literally the next Bob Ross.

He's definitelybalready a lot better at painting than Bob Ross was, so I guess you must be talking in terms of influencing people.

Right, crisp mornings are the best. So lovely to have one wet one in the transport box before going off to breakfast!! Late afternoons are not bad either; to have another one done, and in the box, before repairing to the pub for a pint or two!! LOL :D

Lovely scene, great video. Reminds me of a time I went on a painting trip with friends in the John Muir Wilderness, Sierra Nevadas of California, a decade ago. Back-packed in ten miles, and took my fly rod as well as my painting and camping stuff. Next day I caught trout from a small lake we camped by, for breakfast for the group, before we all went off our separate ways to paint in the morning. Yeah,... it's sometimes a pretty tough life being a plein air painter!!

It's true what you said about the belief in the art world that landscape painting is dead when in fact it is that many of the great landscape artists that are dead. Modern art may appeal to those who are educated in such but the majority of those viewing such are left in bewilderment. I'm sure if such art was not signed the only way to know how to hang it would be from the direction of the paint runs. A landscape painting is a window to your greatest imagination by inticing the viewer to travel somewhere special. Keep up the fantastic work and thanks for the instruction, it's helping me (and countless others) immensely and greatly appreciated . John

Right, been there done that in the Sierra Nevadas of California. I was the "breakfast getter" for our crew of a few other painters when we would hike in for a week by some nice lake to paint the mountains! Early morning freshly caught trout meal prepares you nicely, gives you the energy you need for a day of painting at 10,000 feet,.... carrying around your painting stuff on your back,... where, tying your boots is a big deal,... on the first few days!

Andrew, thanks for taking the time to create this video, I know it creates a lot of work on your end of things but i'm very thankful to be able to reap the rewards of your hard work. Thanks for bring willing to be able to do that for your viewers,. Love your work. One question .....how toxic are those paints you use? (toxic and smelly?)
@johnwilson30046 жыл бұрын
Your habit of painting directly from observation and narrating with helpful tips, techniques and experience with mediums provide the viewer with a 'meat and potato' method of learning vicariously. For a young painter you have the confidence and expertise to offer the less experienced painter real boost towards staying ahead of the paint rather than constantly trying to undo--redo and catchup approach that creates discouragement and frustration. I'm long in the tooth and have painted for many years yet I instantly realized how inspirational your presentations are and how much I could have benefitted early on rather than beating my head against the proverbial wall. Cheers.

Huge thumbs up!!! One of the better efforts on your part. Even this short gave me plenty to work with and think about....(how to use.). I actually like this scene more than those giant, "fill-up-the-wall-guys" that come in here once in a while. (Not that I don't prefer the 16X20 or bigger....) but I just don't have the wall space, etc.... (or the cost of all that paint..... {a little joke...}) Thanks for this... I 'll view this several more times... I've already got some guestions for you.
