I've been professional for just over 20 years. My working day is get up 6am, I'm at the easel by 8am and I paint until 10pm, 7 days a week, all year long. I mainly sit to paint but do a 10 mile ride every lunchtime on a stationary bike in my studio. Early evening I workout an hour in my garage gym. Only other time I stop is lunch and dinner for a meal. One coffee when I get up is my only stimulant, rest of the day is water and decaf coffee. Been on this schedule for years. 🙂

Yoo, are you actually alright mate? I know it can be a passion, but don’t forget to relax and enjoy life once in a while. You don’t have to push yourself that much all the time. Hope you can get some rest if you need it, take care
@paulcorfield_artistАй бұрын
@@レン-u6p Thanks, yes I'm fine. I'm autistic (aspergers), and like a lot of autistic people I like to have the same daily routine. Painting never feels like work and I wish I could paint longer than that each day but I make sure to get around 7 hours sleep each night. I get a few weekends away each year when I have to travel to the publishers to sign prints. I book a hotel each time and make a weekend of it. 🙂

Ever since I discovered ur channel, I always go back to it for comfort! I’ll soon be a college drop out to find a path (hopefully in art) that I’ll be happy with even tho I’m so lost. Ur videos makes me laugh a lot but specifically motivates me to push further. Also, seeing u do drag makeup, be queer is even more comforting :) I wish u well 🫶

I used to overwork myself trying to meet deadlines using caffeine to keep going. I'm 70 now and suffering from chronic nighttime insomnia and daytime fatigue. I'd advise young people to establish a regular sleep-wake cycle and stick to it, because ruining your brain isn't worth it.

I can speak for all artist when I say this: your schedule is unrealistic and pretty unachievable for most artist out there. However, this does give me the motivation to keep pushing myself even if it seems impossible, because you are the inspiration that you are, a lot of us artist will strive to be in the position you’re in; which is selling our work and putting the blood sweat and tears into our creations ❤

As much as I love myself a good painting challenge... This is A LOT. Just this week I finished the challenge to make 6 mixed media gouache sketches in 48 hours that were... a lot. And I am seriously worried about your health. However, it´s your life, it´s your art, you do you. For me, I have not much problem putting myself to do art in my bedroom. For me the problem is to stop for the day at a decent hour. I wrote in my blog 3 tips for getting into the creative mood. No I don´t want to be spammy here. I just think these tips might help you or any other person in the comments: ·Doodle for 15 minutes. At least 3 small bad drawings. ·Journal to let go of any thoughts and write in your agenda whatever you need to do after art. ·Put down the phone and go for a 1h walk before doing art. This is because doomscrolling has such effect that when you close the phone you feel bad. It takes around an hour for the brain to self-regulate. The other option is to stoic-ly do art even tho you feel bad. I personally have adquired this habit that almost every single day I do art. It became a chaotic habit for me to the point once I am in, I cannot stop. I don´t know how to stop. So if these things I do, help you with getting to work! that makes me happy.

I just realized that if I work on two pieces, or switch to sketching, I make less mistakes. It is kind of like when you are reading sometimes, after a while you end up reading the same paragraph over and over. So our minds just get tired of the same view/text/sight. And please don’t do this again to yourself. Those energy drinks are really bad for your heart. Make note of that stiffness, etc, and start walking and stretching. You and your work will benefit. But it was a good experiment and gave you, and us, some good insights.✌️♥️🗳️🟦
