What paint are you using? Is it Acrylic Gouache?

So fun! Do you use a fixing layer when you don’t want the paint to mix? I see they are not mixing up when you add a second layer

I don’t add a fixing layer. I like to only use a minimum amount of strokes when I’m layering with traditional gouache. Once you start overworking the gouache is when it will begin to mix with the bottom layer. Also you have to be sure it’s dry before moving on
