Brilliant idea. I have a couple of shimmer inks that I haven't had success with in my pens. This could be a great use for them. Thanks for sharing.

This is STUNNING! I am actually considering getting my first hobonichi planner now that I have moved into only using fountain pens, I want to plan with paper that will allow all the wonderful ink properties to shine. Thank you for always taking these chances and sharing your process with us. It is helping me be brave in my own fountain pen exploration. I love your channel and have been just going back through your catalogue all day!

This is a beautiful way to personalize your Hobonichi Cousin. The paintings are lovely, and that you were able to utilize your fountain pen inks like that is nothing short of brilliant! Heck, yes, I’ll be trying it!

That is so pretty, and I definitely would like to see you do more videos of your work. Unfortunately. I do not have an artistic bone in my body other than I like to look at it. It never occurred to me that you could paint with fountain pen ink but it turns out that it's beautiful. I like it so much better than watercolors in the hobonichi!
@KarynaLovesToPlan2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Kim! Fountain pen ink is definitely different to watercolour and painting on Tomoe River Paper is different than watercolour paper but that's what I find so fun!

I do this all the time and I consider the ghosting a bonus pastel look that is completely different from the other side. Fun stuff and another way to utilize my ink resources.

Your painting experiment turned out so beautiful. I would love to see ,more of this. The black ink for journaling was, indeed, a good choice. The mixed colors came out gorgeous, and when you tilt your Cousin just right, the shimmer is absolutely WOW! You inspire me to try painting with my inks as well. Thank you!

Stunning! The areas with the bleed through/shadowing look lovely with the writing over the top. I've been using watercolor in my tomoe river paper journals for years and I just love it. The crinkle is great. I've recently been using my inks to fill Kuretake Karappo brush pens; it's nice having a brush pen with the same ink as my fountain pens plus a great way to use up all that ink!

That was great to watch. I had some space left in my journal, so you inspired me. I only had a pencil, so I made it a sketch. At the moment I'm using an Archer and Olive, so I could actually do a lot of painting in my planner, what I did in the beginning, but I was in the middle of moving and renovating. Before we unpacked we had to move again and my room is still not finished, so I haven't had access to my stuff for more than 2 years. Next year I want to get into a hobonichi HON, that's why I thought I could do only a bit of pencil, maybe Tombow. But this looks very nice and I would mind the bleed through either.

So beautiful. Do you think the paper would behave the same if I used watercolors?
@loracharis68142 жыл бұрын
I think it should. Its easier to paint with watercolor than with ink. In both cases I think managing the water in brush would be key.
@KarynaLovesToPlan2 жыл бұрын
I believe the paper would hold up well to watercolour for sure!
