Kevin shows the process of painting a latex rubber figure using Maker Pro Paint in this video. They provide a tenacious bond, easy mixing, consistent coverage, and can be applied with a brush, roller, or sprayed. To overcome the paint adherence and cracking challenges, we use the FLEX additive to ensure seamless bonding and flexibility with the latex rubber mask.
In this tutorial, we begin by thoroughly mixing the FLEX additive and Maker Pro Paint, maintaining a one-to-one ratio by volume. After achieving a uniform color, we dispense the paints and additives into separate cups for easy application. With the paints prepared, we demonstrate the step-by-step process of applying a base coat, adding darker shades for contrast, and employing a dry brush technique for depth. If i want to Mix Paint for a special Color, do i mix it first THEN add the Flex? or do i add the Flex to each Base Paint, then mix them? "basically since its 2 different kinds of paint being mixed, do they both need the flex as a base mixed with each, or will one cup of Flex work?

Great question. You can do it either way, however I personally like to mix the Flex Additive with each paint before mixing my colors so that I do not forget to add the Flex Additive. The most important part is making sure you mix the Flex Additive with the Paints at a 1 Part Paint to 1 Part Flex Additive by VOLUME.

Could this type of paint be used with flexible tpu 3d prints?

Can the flex additive be used by itself as a primer coat?

The Flex Additive cannot be used as a primer coat. It is mixed with the paint for painting flexible surfaces.

I used to just add the paint to the latex for colour, because it wouldn’t stick to it otherwise.

It was really hard years ago to paint latex. The Maker Pro Paints have really become a game changer with what they are able to bond to and flex with. They are the most durable and adhesive paints we have ever come across.

Hello. How does this paint work with synthetic rubbers like urethane and silicon please?

Maker Pro Paint will not bond to silicone. To paint silicone, Psycho Paint would be recommended. It will bond to urethane rubber if the FLEX additive is used.
