Edit: IMPORTANT IF YOU PAINT YOUR OWN SHIRTS!! I think I figured out why I had the stiff fabric. I used the acrylic paint with the fabric medium first on the sunflower shirt before I moved to fabric paint, and I used no acrylic paint on the Starry Night shirt. At first, I thought it was the fabric paint with the problem, but I think it’s the acrylic paint. Still looking into which brand of fabric paint I want to use, but for now I’ll stick with the brand I got at Michael’s.

I told my dad, that I want Van Gogh inspired clothes, he told me that I can get some, just tell him the store, I told him that I want to paint them (and anyways I was in an art school). He freaked out, than I showed hin this video and he (even if he is very serious and strict) told me that it's okay, but this girl paints just freakin amazingly well. I'm watching this in awe. Absolutely gorgeous! Starry Night is one of my favourite paintings of all time. My mom made Noon: Rest from Work with cross stitches. Seeing someone painting on clothes or shoes with such precision just makes me speechless. Landscape with Plowed Field shoes are just breathtaking.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this before but you could have also used canvas primer and regular acrylic paint for the shoes - or at least that's what I did a couple of years ago. The primer dries clear though it makes the fabric a little bit stiff (just like a canvas would be) and it makes painting way easier (because you don't depend on fabric colour palettes). Loved your video, now I want to go back to painting shoes myself!

i absolutely LOVE the royal and langnickel (however you spell it) brush. for every painting i mainly use the 20/0 or 3/0 brushes by them. absolutely great!!

I love every one you did (especially The Starry Night, what a classic) Yes I do think you should start your own hand painted clothing line, what a brilliant idea =) As soon as I can I definitely will be messaging you about a custom piece if you're willing! For your white t-shirt I think you should go out of your comfort zone and try something you've never thought or wanted to do before. A style completely opposite to yours. 80$ is wayyyy too much for these lol....... 60$ is pushing it for some white canvas shoes you can get for 5$ and copied paintings. I wouldn’t advise paying 80$ for those you can do it yourself for cheaper and with a little practice! The time it took you counts towards the price I know, but almost 100$ for a copied painting on a 5$ shoe is super dumb and a ripoff

stargirlsasch copying work is only bad if it’s not credited and permission is given if such person is still alive. Being able to copy artwork well is an incredible skill, and people are actually paid loads of money for recreating famous works. Not to mention this shoes will have taken ages and loads of effort. These shoes could honestly be priced for hundreds, so $80 is a great deal.

Around 3:36 when u started talking about why you like Van Gogh, you kept on using present tense instead of past tense!! $60 is a perfect price for the Vans shoes. What I said at the beginning was kind of a joke because spending $60 on the vans shoes would actually be way easier for me than taking the time to paint my own. Mine are handmade - hours of work put into them, each shoes is unique. They aren’t easy to paint. Art isn’t EASY. So I can see why you think that, but coming from an artist’s perspective, mine actually should be priced more than $80.

You're right - I will definitely look into getting better quality shoes. Of course, that would up the price, but it would be better overall. And painting shoes is not a new things at all :) Countless people have done it. And I've known many artists who painted van Gogh shoes long before Vans did. Many artists on instagram, for example.
