I really like the choices made for your self portrait, where the attention is on your bird, giving it all your attention and that of the viewer, from your soft gaze upon it, showing affection and directing the view towards it, to making it look at the viewer, something that is usually used to capture and retain the focus , reserved for the main subject , but here your bird taking the spotlight. Also like how the yellow from your birds feathers is found in the color of the chosen dress for your portrait.
