Painting Mythic Legions Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about painting are the most commones one I receive from new Mythic Legions customizers. This short video answers some of the most common paining questions I hear, including:
1. What paints do you use?
2. What brushes do you use?
3. Do you spray a coat of primer?
4. How do you paint joints and prevent rub?
5. Do you seal your custom painted figures?
I answer these questions and also off some additional tips to hopefully get you comfortable and ready to start painting some Legions!

Strange - you are not the only person to say that, but when I play the video back myself, the audio seems OK?

@@MythicCustoms Yeah it was very low, like it was turned down or something. I had my cpu volume and youtube volume all the way up and it was still low, so I increased it even more through my speakers to hear you...not sure what happened...

yeah had to turn volume up to 50 to actually hear.

vallejo paints retail for $3.79 for individual bottles so whoever you're buying from has an extreme mark up please buy them from hobby websites or local gamestores

For many people who do not have local gamestores or hobby shops that sell them, a site like Amazon is the best bet and that is what many bottles sell for on that site. Those in larger cities and metro areas likely have way more local options than rural customizers, so that is something I keep in mind when I discuss the cost of the paints.

Can you do a tutorial on how to do a vorgus paint job please? Also do you need to strip the paint before painting it?

You definitely do NOT want to strip paint if you can avoid it! Doing so can compromise the plastic itself, and I have never stripped a figure before painting. In terms of a Vorgus tutorial - I've never actually done a paint match to Vorgus, but if I do one in the future, I will totally do a tutorial on it!

Any recommendations on what paint to use on the wolf king / angry ogre head. I don’t want to repaint the whole body to match.

I did a mix of green paints from Vallejo and tested it until I felt like it was close. Honestly, it was not an easy match, but with some trial and error you can get it close. Sadly I have not found a single "out of the bottle" color that matches well.

Question..... Are Mezco Action Figure Heads compatible with Mythic Legion Figures??

You may be able to use some Mezco heads, especially in 2.0 style Mythics, but I find them overall to be too small. I bought a loose Aquaman had to use on Legions way back and when it came in, I was amazed at how much smaller it was. Mezco are really more of a true 6" scale, while Legions 1.0 are definitely 7".
