How would you go about painting lightning effects similar to those found on night lords armor?

A liner brush and enough thinner so that it'll apply in a single stroke. If I wanted a glow then I'd put that down first, using the blending brush to give it a soft, diffused look, then put the bolt on top of that. Letting your power armour dry first would make things even easier, as you could just wipe away mistakes as you practice your freehand without worrying about damaging the underlying paintjob.

Don’t get me wrong i’m a big fan of your content but I was wondering if you can apply your technic to a fully detailed mini, I mean with detailed face, detailed clothes and accessories etc.

Absolutely. Oils work really well for both fine detail and freehand, which I hope to do videos on at some point.
