Wow. Amazing work, not only on the painting (which looks gorgeous), but the whole video. I felt nothing but joy to sit through 40+ minutes of you planning, designing, sketching and painting this piece. If anything, I have a single complaint: I really wanted to see how you painted lips but you skipped on both faces 😂 That's okay though. I hope you keep posting more videos like this. Thanks!

After seeing so many Timelapse paintings all the time, there’s something so much more relaxing about seeing someone paint in real time. More channels need to consider doing it. (I know some of it is Timelapse here, but usually painting videos I’ve seen are 100% Timelapse)

I could never quite imagine how the greats captured such dimension and better-than-life creations and now i see how. it's astonishing how art links all artists together from any style and genre, but such old techniques connect you with even older artists from history and it makes me emotional seeing people like you now creating in a similar way to people a few hundred years ago, like they're all creating together. the music you chose matched with the painting gives me a feeling i can't quite describe.

The level of process that goes into making the price aka the taking notes and photographing is actually inspiring as an artist I tend to go straight into my work without much reference beyond photos online or from my camera roll but this video makes me want to take the development processes more serious and make them more fun and artsy too. I always liked doing research and such with my art I just feel guilty sometimes If I linger on that stage too long as we live in a world focused more on end results.

No no you're actually right, a lot of people do!! Some people go directly into painting with no planning as well, which is just as amazing! There are a billion different processes people do based on what works for them, and all of them are fascinating. this is just my way of doing things, not *the* right way
@Mr.misterr2 жыл бұрын
@@ruthspeer8475 lmao but your art is so precise that I think you're doing something right And also I know that people can paint amazing things with zero to no research and preparation. but I think that to draw like you do, the prep work is really important, and it shows.

I just wanted you to know how dazzling this was for me to watch. That probably doesn't mean a lot coming from a non-painter, but I was so blown away by this experience. KZbin showed this video to me at pretty much random, and having seen the finished product on Instagram, I thought I'd watch a bit out of curiosity and then move on. I watched this whole thing, and I really wish I could express to you how magical watching it was. You started making the mock-up on your tablet and I thought, "Hmm, I remembered this having been a real painting, but I guess I can't expect someone on KZbin to be able to paint THAT well in real life." And then you pulled out the canvas and I died!! There were so many moments like that-- you would paint on these blocky bold colors and I would think, "Wow, what a cool stylistic choice!" And then you would blend them and it would be a perfect hand! The range of shades on Wert's face that all coalesced into a perfectly natural looking skin tone! While you were painting Beatrice, I admit I thought, "Oh, it's a shame she just chose to make her pretty." But then looking at the final product, the subtle expression of exasperation there!! Exhilarating! It's such a perfect representation of the characters while being so separate from the style of the show. I go to museums and see paintings of Christ and Venus and I'm unmoved, but seeing these lil guys venerated like this... I get it. I get portraiture. I wanna go out and buy a book about portraits. And you did that! I hope you're proud.

It’s so nice to see a process video with the use of model references and such in depth research and detailed sketching!! That’s almost exactly how I work as an illustrator and artist and I sometimes feel as though I’m doing something wrong by working in realism and more traditional methods where many of my contemporaries have more modern methods and styles that are faster and simpler. I often find myself having to remember that Norman Rockwell, one of the founding fathers of illustrative art, worked very traditionally so why can’t I? This video is so beyond inspiring and encouraging!!! Thanks for making dope things!!

I don't normally comment on videos but this one was so beautifully made so I had to. Ever since I finished school I've been lost to what I wanted to study next, I didn't know for certain if art would get me somewhere. And so I got a job and spent most of the year being miserable. I wouldn't draw anymore nor do the things I was so passionate about. I felt like an empty shell of what I once was and of what I had hope to become. By kind of accident I got interested and enrolled in a career that is not specifically an art career but a design one. And so I started studying, quit my job and got back into art. That was about 2 months ago and now I'm finally getting back into art and the things that are good for me, that make me feel alive. It is something so difficult to explain but this is the kind of content that makes us want to continue and to push through all the obstacles and uncertainties that get in our way. I think this mightve gotten a bit too long :) but when watching this while drawing for school, I felt joy and so much more overwhelmingemotions . I had to stop drawing because my eyes were too blurry at times. So anyways, if you happen to read this, thank you
