I don't get how random blobs of grey colour turned into this masterpiece.

it certainly isnt random. artists use something called sketch language they think about what everything they put down are supposed to become before painting anything. many blobs you may think are random are just value composition.

you still need to have correct values or it wont look like skin you need to practice values.

Cin he is using layers and creating a monochromatic image. Once he has that done he adds a layer adjustment curves layer to mess with the curves to change the color of the "grey blobs".

You can download it through Qooapp. Just google Qooapp apk and you can download and install it. After that from Qooapp you can search for fate grand order and you will be able to download it. know that the game is not translated and is only in Japanese, but its simple to understand. If you need help go to reddit.com /grand order (no space) Also make sure to watch Fate zero and Unlimited blade works

I've just seen how you use folders for each of the characters. You then have sub-layers for all the details. One for rough sketch, another for tighter lines, another for colour, etc.
