Roses and the colour blue.. always beautiful..never boring. Magnolias are also a beautiful flower to paint, though not as popular as roses for some reason.

Hi David! The "Soft" technique you demonstrate in this lesson is unique and dreamy. Thank you for illustrating it so clearly. I have been benefiting from your free KZbin classes since 2021....practice is the key. Speaking of 'keys,' (lol) there are "KZbin Keyboard Shortcuts" that (for me) have made learning from your lessons much easier. For instance, hitting the "K" stops and starts the video. So does the spacebar. "J" takes it back 10 seconds. (I use that one the most -- lol.) "L" takes it forward 10 seconds. There are a bunch more that I don't use, but they're all very cool. Keyboard shortcuts have saved me frustration and allowed me to learn from your lessons more effectively. Learning your techniques is worth all the work. Thank you! Hi, Martha! Best regards to all. How very interesting with the blue scaffolding. It really makes the roses appear white with a borrowed blue tint. Really nice.

i painted these and ended with several layers of paint but they actually look good. I am shocked. Watching your rose videos is what convinced me i wanted to paint so i have been painting ever since. But have only painted your roses 3x now in the past 2 years because I am so intimidated by them. I did the 1st day of 30 roses last night and even though i did it quickly along with you to try to paint loosely and it is not very good, I am amazed it still looks like a rose. Going to make myself do all 30 of your roses. Prolly will do the 1st day again to try to remember the technique you teach in it. My finger smears aren't very good and haven't gotten the concept yet but will keep trying. Even with a beginner and not very good, your techniques can make someone like me have what looks like a rose on the canvas. Thank you!

David, your tubs of paint look fairly small. How often do you have to replace them ?

Hello Lavon. This is a great question. The Heritage MultiMedia tubes of paint are the standard 2.5 oz. (It is available in larger jars.) And it has a long open or working time. David usually puts out an amount to start the painting. Then adds as he uses up color. We have little waste as it does not dry out too soon. 😊
