Wow. I am just really moved. Thank you. I am very very grateful and touched that you took this time and shared such wisdom. I'm an artist and I really sense a reckoning within myself - a fork in the road perhaps. Will I continue to admire the work I find inspiring by others ? Or will I take the time to just 'do the work' which in my thought is draw and paint without 'referencing', and discover my own way. Thank you. You really made my day and gave me a launch pad. 🎨❤️ Additionally, I am taking an online course offered by artist Tammy Hudgeon about working more intuitively.✨️

Why not both? Just not at the same time. And broaden the art you look at. I try to look at art of as many genres and types as I can. Including things like fiber art, ceramics. Whatever strikes my fancy, if you will. But when I am in art mode myself, or when I am posting my art I keep that separate. Creating space between the two. Sometimes that is hours but sometimes it is weeks or months. Listen to your feelings and to your bodies responses.

“The answer is in the question”… so aptly said Christie!! I have always loved your playful faces (particularly love their hair!). I appreciate your words of encouragement. For me it’s the lips…never quite right. Recently painted a face where her lips were too small for her face which instantly made her look frustrated. Realizing that has been my mindset lately about a lot of things, this discussion puts a different perspective on her overall appearance! Eye opening. As always, thank you for your openness. ❤
