Over the weekend I found an interesting way of doing tracks. First, you paint the tracks silver (or gray or whatever). Once that dries go over it in brown, while wiping off the stuff that covers the raised bit, as it gives the impression of mud that has sunk into the recesses of the tracks. I also found it dulls down the shine of silver, which makes it look really nice.

One tool I have discovered I like for bits of bared metal are Molotow markers, like the 1.5mm metallic silver. I've also had some good results with AK's weathering pencils, and Lifecolor's Liquid Pigment series.

Fantastic paint job. Very nicely done. I'm no rivet counter and like you don't care what they think. What matters is that your happy with it and the heck with everyone else. They are just observers. Great work and keep them coming. Thank you.

Well done, but if you want a darker tone for your tank there is a colour in Vallejo's Panzer Aces series, if I remember is British Bronze Green, I had the Humbrol enamel and it should be similar

Fun fact about the Firefly , the crews inside these shermans knew that German tank crews were taught to target Firefly tanks , so some Firefly tanks tried to hide the fact that they had long 3 inch cannons. They tried to move the gun muzzle brake further back and tried to cover up their longer cannon
@kirotheavenger606 жыл бұрын
Shix Lo The Crusading Slav But interesting, Fireflys were less likely to get knocked out than their shorter gunned bretheren. Even in Cromwell troops, where the Firefly would stick out like a sore thumb.

Another thing you can blame your fuel stains on is that the crew where refueling the tank with a flimsy that leaked. They where called flimsy's for good reason

Looks great to me. Mind you, most wargamers are guys and color blindness is most dominant among men. No worries in that department. If a rivet counter gives you any pain, just tell him that he is color blind.
@czaczaja6 жыл бұрын
Herbert, did you varnish it before the green wash??
@HerbertErpaderp6 жыл бұрын
I didn't. It's not an enamel wash so it wasn't going to damage the base coats and I wanted it to alter the layers beneath it a bit, so there wasn't much reason to add a varnish.

If Barnaby brings up a Konigstiger, you’re screwed...actually, come to think of it, Barnaby would be screwed, because that beast is so absurdly expensive points-wise that he wouldn’t be able to field much of anything else!

@HerbertErpaderp6 жыл бұрын
I use vallejo airbrush thinner. But water can be used too. It's thinned like pretty much any other paint. You add thinner until it's the consistency you want.
