Painting the WestJet

I was one of 2 airbrush artists on the team that painted this airplane. I painted left side, my counterpart painted the right side in same sequence as I. Of all the airplanes I've worked on, I watch this video the most because of the production and the music. WestJet knows how do time lapse video.

West jet you are all angels you didn't need to do what you did. But you made a lot of peoples wishes come true. The incredible thought process that it would to take to get everyones wish for Christmas from Santa no less live and then send all the info to the arrival location go out and get the stuff wrap it and have it for when the passengers arrive to collect their luggage is absolutely amazing.

I wish I could see this one in real life, the plain and mickey of course, never had the change. Love from the Netherlands WestJet, you guys doing amazing things, I just saw al lot of YT movies about WestJet SO SO awesome! Only tears came out hahaha. When I was younger my family has 8 persons now 10 years later, we are with 17 people. father & mother, children and grand children, I learned my children when their were younger that making another happy is the most important gift of all, how did I do that? 8 Years ago there was a homeless man, I bought bread for him at the time of Easter. I gave it to the man, because he had nothing, so he watched me in the eyes and say; Thank You, thats very kind of You. I said to him, Happy Easter and enjoy it.....my children.... I saw their faces ....that was enough. Blesses Holidays and Merry Christmas WestJet

I LOVE this so much!!! but I'm really confused about the layers of the paint and stuff.. even though I'm an artist myself... esp. the thing with layering the yellow sparkles underneath and then completely covering them with navy paint. it's sorta confusing ?

The process is called "reverse masking". It is easier,faster and uses less material if you paint small elements first,tape them off, then paint the background colors. However, I would have completed this particular paint job differently ...with less material . They painted the plane dark blue much sooner in the process than I would have. (probably because a "non artist" type painter was giving the orders,or worse yet, a "non painting" shop manager office executive or advertising agent laid out the process in a work order. I must say the end result still achieves the desired graphic effect.
