Your clouds look great but, you have very poor audio. If you are going to do tutorials, you need better audio - it's distracting. It would have helped if you'd shown how to paint a cloud from start to finish instead of working on clouds you'd already painted. Hard to tell what you were accomplishing.

he spent all his money on cerulean blue, if he had used phthalo he would have had money left over to buy audio equipment

+Paul Foote I could here him just fine. This was just 3 quick tips not an entire tutorial.

+Aurelie Nani Phthalo blue? Sure. His painting would look like it belonged in Mardi Gras or a circus. Way too strong. I do have a tube of it lying around somewhere. It came with a set I bought years ago. It's the only blue I never use. Way too brash for me. Cobalt Blue, Maganese Blue, Antwerp Blue, Cerulean Blue, Prussian Blue, Ultramarine Blue... yes. All useful. Phthalo Blue? No thanks, I'll pass. Of course, it's a matter of preference. Your mileage may vary. As for the audio. Yeah, it's level is low. But there is this thing called a "volume knob." Maybe y'all have heard about it somewhere.

he has NOT painted a single cloud in this video and HE was NOT interested in making sure you really understood how to make the clouds, this is a selling pitch for his web site where he sells the lessons!
@pleromicpastry54455 жыл бұрын
@@raffahotmail6944 First of all, the video claims to offer 'tips' not a lesson in how to paint clouds. He was showing how to make cloud shadows in this little lesson which is where most beginners struggle, with the values and temperatures of the colors between the shadows and the highlights. Also, in the real world people need money to live. There is no shame in giving people a taste of something so they can decide whether they want to buy it. Artists deserve to be paid for their talents.

The tips are very good, and I like how you explain what you're doing, but I can't see what you're doing; your painting is already quite far along, and is in the midground while you're in the foreground.

I like your video but it would be much more helpful if we could actually see what you're doing. We don't need to see you as much as we need to see your brushstrokes and your hand and what you are actually creating - then add shots of yourself and the whole painting.

Okay, I have questions... I watched another video of yours that has the dark on the edges with the light in the valleys of the clouds and that works. Then this has the light on the edges and the dark in the valleys, and THAT works. How is that possible?!
@gagnonstudio3 жыл бұрын
You see both types of highlights in nature. A lot of time it depends on the moisture in the cloud, or what type of cloud it is. You can get away with both techniques, or combine the two for even more depth.
