You won't believe what a pouring artist can paint with over 400 toothpicks. Be amazed!
I got the idea at a barbecue where there were also toothpicks lying around. I made a test picture and was thrilled. This painting method creates very beautiful works of art.
The acrylic paints I diluted with water before painting, which colors I use and how the correct mixing ratio is made you can see in this step by step course: tiktusart.com/...
With this technique you must have some patience, the acrylic paints must flow slowly over the edges of the toothpicks. This is the only way to get a nice mixture.
If you want to discover more unusual pouring techniques, then go here: tiktusart.com/...
If you want to paint more pictures, you can reuse the toothpicks, you just have to let them dry.
Creative greetings
Tiktus

YT has been showing me lots of these pour videos lately. I'm amazed at how creative the artists are when it comes to their methods. I've seen collanders, cotton balls, waded up foil and plastic wrap, toothpicks, spoons, balloons, cups, bowls, and lots more used in place of brushes. Have loved them all.

Yes. But I still love the good old brush. I could try one with the hacks like a scrubside of a sponge or the cottonbuds and the rolled up tin foil. But nothing beats a painting done mostly by hand. I watched one of a winterscene that I thought wouldn't be too great but it ended up like a world you just wanted to enter. It was amazing. Look at YNV Art. I couldn't make those. But I could likely do the one Jay Lee does with his drops.of paint and follow him, dabbing with tin foil, making leaves with cottonbuds and a few simple lines to make a person or two people walking. Just... He makes so many of the same type just different colors that for now I'm good. It is still a world of difference to use hacks (which they basically are) or just brushes (and just ever so slightly a cottonbud) in the outcome of a painting. I'd be proud to make a nice one with hacks for myself but I enjoy a beautiful painting come to life in a timelapse that looks much more realistic and just *wow*. The *wow* with the aids are more like: cool, didnt know you could make a painting with those and you have a fairly good tree coming out with the leaves dotted on by cottonbuds. Jay Lee also does waterpainting, yhere you can see a whole different technique and how his paintings look then. Me I'm starting with a scene I thought looked gorgeous and easy enough to start with on Dangerous Roads, documentaires. It's gonna be a truck in the Andes woth two Mountains on each side and some blue in the middle and sketch out a truck, where the emphasis lies on the headlights of the truck. It will take a paper to swatch the colors right where dust gets hit by light as that has a greybrownish hue over the yellow. I have to version of it where one is mostly focussing on the headlights and the other also having more light on the truck and thus have a good outline of the sketch and color, be gentle with the amount of water there. I will try more than once probably but when I like one I am freaking framing it and hang it on my wall 😃 The painting in the video is very much a "trust the process"-type of painting. Someone said other colors would make a great table top. I was straight up thinking Black and White (kind of straight forward really) or purple and blue. I don't know if I would want darker purple and lighter blue or vv and ask if they could do a small example of both to see what I would like best. The idea itself is a great one to me! Art can have so many different effect on people and it can be incorporated in someone's living space like that or a painting in your home. Graffiti Art on the depressing grey bridges and shit. Art galleries and probably it's everywhere you simply look but we tend to forget that "simply" (lounging)chairs can be made into a work of art. And I'm not even touching what music can add to something or do to you just simply sitting and listening. I feel Lucky to never have thrown away my collection of 16 classical cd's because I have a new cd player which can also record onto USB, it has a cassettedeck (I just have no cassettes lol) and it has a vinyl record player which can also be recorded onto a usb and ultimaltely your laptop or tablet or even Phone to enjoy your records on the way. I like modern music but came to appreciate classical. I do want to have 1 Hilary Hahn cd and 1 Janine Jansen. Very different ways of playing, even my untrained ear hears that.... I have an unknown (to me haha) orchestra who recorded the pieces, time to dust them off and get into it again. And if possibly find my violin, rehair my bow which will be necessary, get rosin and get playing from the damn start. Oh someday. If only all this would turn to actual trying.... but lately I find nyself knock-out from around midnight till 2 or 3 pm or even 5 pm and I just can't even. Literally taking off my cozy socks I sometimes am not able to do anymore. The thought of the whole process (... ) overwhelms me. Yeah you read it right. The whole process of taking off my socks at night before sleeping. Bathrobe I can just slid out of. But asking me to take off my socks can feel like asking me to pull a freighttrain with my bare hands and make it move.. 2060: the first truckaquarel is official started by making the sketch. 2078' I needed just to color in the sketch to be done. Sadly for the world I will be dead then as I'd be 100. But hey maybe it will sell well knowing it's the only one ever done by me 🤣

That wasn't what I thought you were going to do - I thought you were going to move the bundle of toothpicks around the canvas after pouring the paints (another idea, maybe?), but this turned out lovely. It looks like a nebula. Also, the music is very pretty and soothing - name and artist, please? Thanks! ❤

This is just un-fkn-believable. I am a musician/composer and as I am watching this and seeing the finished scene, the colors and swirls are giving me musical inspiration and ideas for new compositions. I can’t explain to people who don’t play or compose, exactly what it is doing but if you are an artist of any kind you probably understand.without me having to explain it… it’s crazy because, I haven’t seen color combinations like that in years, if ever. If I had artwork like that in my studio room I would be an absolute limitless source of creativity.. this is just amazing, right when I needed it too..

I like how it turned out. At first I thought I would like to see a pour over scattered toothpicks but immediately realized the act of removing them would be tedious, each toothpick would need to be removed individually or it would ruin the painting. Scattered toothpicks could work for a resin piecework with the toothpicks integrated into the design itself.

I don't have anything on KZbin. I just started pouring a few months ago but thanks for the interest! M Jo Painting has a video of how he stores his paint skins and making jewelry. Molly's Artistry has a good one for magnets. I just let the paint dry on the plastic I use to cover my table and then peel it off. I use gallon size storage bags to put them in. I did just watch another video where if you don't have time to let it dry, just mix it before throwing it out. You may get a color you like to use in another project. Just scoop it into an air tight contain for later use if you like it. I hate the thought of all my wasted paint also. LOL
