You could use a microchip. You could run them into the head gate, then insert a microchip, into the calf n cow, n then you would always know. Also if you ever have one stolen, then you can identify it. You can buy the microchips n the wand, scanner on Amazon n at other different places. They are not expensive.

Our cows are all mixed breed. We cull and keep based on how the heifers buck when flanked after weaning and later on how they produce. None are registered by a breed association. Thanks for watching.

He flanks the heifers after weaning and makes decisions from there. Some sell and some stay, unless he knows their genetics are off the chart and then he keeps them for a few years to see what they will produce. Thanks for watching.

Do you breed each cow to a different bucking bull or do you run one bull with a Group of cows?

You usually have 1 bull but if you have more cows than 1 bull can take care of you'll have 2. You do run into the bulls fighting if their all in one pasture.

We run one bull per pasture and have several pastures sorted by age, genetics, etc. Thanks for watching.
