Bryan, thanks for the information. I wish Mares was as useful/helpful as you are. I have the Mares Genius and it was/is very complicated to get paired. Your video was very helpful and I got it paired. Thanks from Arizona. I believe you have to pair each time you change tanks?

I really like the LED feature on this transmitter... Was thinking about buying this transmitter and the Perdix AI. Was wondering if the LED feature will work with it as well?

Hello Poppa Bear. The Mares LED Transmitter will only work with Mares Computers. I'm not sure any manufacture makes a transmitter that will work with multiple brands of computers.

Did three dives and the smart air went in to no fly mode showing how long before I could fly. Can I by pass that feature or do I have a setting wrong?

Hello Steve E. Most dive computers will have a no fly feature built in. This is here to keep us safe.

What if the module was already paired to a different computer? Do you have to reset the module?

Hello audiorazor, as long as its not already paired you can pair it. The other cylinder would need to be shut off, and the lines need to be de-pressurized. Then you simply pair your computer to the transmitter.

Can mares smart air export freedive (apnea) logs with dive chart? Or is it only useless maxDepth/diveTime table with one record per dive?

That is a great question. I'm going to have to refer you to Mares Headquarters in Boca Raton. The Smart Apnea is specifically made for freediving, not the Smart Air.

@@LakeHickoryScuba Got the answer from my dealer. "Smart Air can record the profiles of approximately 95 hours of diving, at a sampling rate of 5 seconds. The information can be transferred using the optional USB clip to PC via the Dive Organizer software" -MARES manual. It sucks at apnea. "The "normal" Smart has only one basic freediving mode, which is not able to record and display the profile."- Mares. Apnea mode is only formally supported, there will be no data stored for apnea diving session. Dive Organizer is crashing without chart data, mares ignores issue ticket for 2 month now. If you plan to use it for freediving, go away.

Hello John C, truthfully I don't know, but I will make a video trying it out for you. I have had several parents say they wished they had computer that would read both their pressure and their child's while diving. The two main issues would be, distance to the transmitter and it would have to be two different gas mixtures. Stay tuned.

Hi Bryan, Love the videos. Couple of questions if I may: 1) Is the battery kit with O ring the same for the smart as the smart air? If not do you know the Mares part number? 2) Is it possible to get the battery kit with O ring for the LED transmitter module? Do you know the Mares part number? Cheers, Tom.

Hello Tom, great question. Unfortunately the battery kits for the Smart and the Smart Air are different. The kit numbers for each are: Smart - 44201187 (2430 Battery), and for the Smart Air - 44201491 (2450 Battery). The Battery Kit for the LED Transmitter is 44201464. Any Mares Dealer should be able to get you these. Although all are user friendly, be very careful on changing the transmitter battery, things get tricky. When in doubt, have a local Mares technician do it for you. Most charge around $25, but it beats having a flooded transmitter or computer.
