Pajama Sam 1 Easter Egg - The Dumbwaiter Sings

Did you know that you can make the Dumbwaiter in Darkness' Kitchen sing an extra verse? If you ever played "Pajama Sam: No Need To Hide When It's Dark Outside" when you were a kid, you've probably not seen this easter egg, partly because of the steps you have to do to make this happen. It's small, but it's unexpected.
Normally, the Dumbwaiter will make the stove spout smoke, and then say:
"That's a no-no, we avow it. No, we simply can't allow it."
I figure it's because Sam can't reach the "down" button on the other side.
Anyways, I thought it was a memory I made up back when I was 6 years old, just a little bit, but the idea stuck in my mind for almost 20 years. (Seriously. From 1996 onwards, I didn't find this again until I asked someone here on KZbin.)
I've been able to get it to happen without extra steps, but it seems there's a prerequisite I didn't know/forgot until now.
The Steps to Make This Happen:
Prerequisites: Unlock the Doors of Knowledge upstairs, meaning that depending on the path, you need to convince Otto that he can float, either to look at the color of the flowers in the garden on the other side of the river (for the last answer in the "Brain Tickler" game show), or to get the oil can, and then use the oil can to get rid of the rust on King's wheels, to check the number on the water meter in the mines (again, for the last answer in the "Brain Tickler" game show).
1. Click on either the cutting board (to make the knife sing)
OR
2. Click on the pot on the stove (to make the chicken sing)
3. Alternate between the two (It may take 6 or 7 verses of each character to do)
4. If you do it right, the dumbwaiter will interrupt the song (the cursor won't come back) with its own verse:
"Give it to me, and I'll take it right up... to Darkness, where he'll gobble it up." Then the pot will jump into his mouth, he'll leave as if you pushed one of the elevator buttons, and then come back.
It seems like this easter egg is repeatable, thankfully, so it doesn't happen once-per-game. (I tried this on a special save file where I had already tried it once.)

I’ll never forget how deeply SHOCKED I was when I first found this out!! Though I never thought you could do it like this! I always did it in like a circle. The chicken in the pot, the refrigerator, the pitcher, the salt and pepper shakers, the grinder, then the knife and cutting board, then the pot again. And there’s another Easter egg in this area, if you click on the shelf in the top left corner the salt and pepper shakers will sing as numerous items jump into to the pot of soup!!

Basically, you need to fill the pot so it actually has something in it for the dumbwaiter to take upstairs.
