This was the very first game I worked on when I got hired as a background artist at Humongous Entertainment in April of 1996. I did all the cut-scene backgrounds for PJ1. The very first background I drew on my very first day can be seen 6:31. Started simple. I also liked to sneak in hidden Star Wars references. Look in the top left corner of the screen at 43:40 and you'll see what is supposed to be the Death Star in the sky.

I love pretty much all the Humongous Entertainment games, but Pajama Sam and Spy Fox are my favorites. Pajama Sam because it really captures the feeling of being a kid (with his adventures relating to childhood problems like fear of the dark I mean). Plus the lands he visits are really neat, I wish I could go to those places. And Spy Fox because it's just so darn cool! Plus the puns are hilarious. XD I wish I could visit them and befriend them, and Freddi Fish and Luther and Putt-Putt and Pep too. But I guess the closest I'll ever get is being lucky enough to meet their voice actors. Did anybody else notice the Freddi Fish poster in Sam's bedroom? They always make references to their other games like that.

If you clicked on poster it would change to different game characters

Anyone else saw the Freddi Fish poster in Sam's room? Look carefully around his closet. :D

I lost this game in my memory for nearly a decade until i watch a youtuber who mentioned Pajama Sam. Then for some reason my brain instantly recognized the name, but i still had no idea what it was until now.

This game is pleasantly witty, especially for a kids game. Wish I had finished it as a kid.

This makes me think of The Sound of Silence. "Hello, darkness my old friend."

Storming here in Australia & my brother just texted me “thunder & lightning all so frightening” referencing this game. We played together when we were 6-7. Thank you for making these videos

So much animation went into this, the Putt-Putt and the Freddy the Fish series - on every screen there's a bunch of stuff you can click that's animated and not even necessary to progress with the plot...

the nostalgia is so overwhelming i’ve been trying to remember the name of this game for so long... i’m pretty sure i’m crying

How did you beat High Demon Elgrim? I got stuck on him in my first playthrough he’s so hard.
@silenceundying9 ай бұрын
You use the secret Babagaboosh chant that lowers his defense by 50% and allows your illuminator to deal damage. If you have the communist carrot, he gets an extra turn and can use Revolution to attack twice with advantage due to the mask. Make sure you're using an even number Sam because High Demon Elgrim has advantage against odd number Sams. You can also use a physics puzzle on Elgrim to confuse him on his next turn. If all else fails, try using the crab's secret. It's hard to do but it helps a lot.

Question. Is it bad that I'm 28 and want to download this on steam for a mega nostalgia trip? Same with the putt putt games and Freddie fish 🤣
