Pakistan and Iran have called for a "peaceful resolution" of the Kashmir issue in a joint statement issued after Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi's three-day trip to Pakistan. Pakistan's prime minister had thanked Raisi for Iran's position on Kashmir during a press conference on Monday, but the Iranian president steered clear of the issue in his remarks. However, Kashmir has found its way into the joint statement issued after the visit. Iranian clerics, including supreme leaders, have been known to talk about Kashmir despite Tehran's close relations with India. What should New Delhi make of this statement? I line in New Orleans Louisiana USA. In 1973 -my friend lab partner-Manoj LSUMC sort of out of the blue. wistfully mentioned Kashmir- how beautiful it was-wild flowers covering the hills-and many lakes with houseboats his family would stay at while on vacation. Who would have thought-Kashmir a garden spot where people vacationed-especially in the hot summers. It would be good to have peace there-pretty place shame it is in dispute.None of Iran's business of course, but... never stopped us-USA-from interfering Kashmir-in all reports on it-its beauty is never mentioned??Just conflict-can't imagine the locals favor conflict.
