Tis quite obvious that advertisers … player agents and PSL team owners control the decisions … that’s quite obvious that Tis for revenue / brand / social media outreach reasons … having said that Tis the same in India … the only difference is that the players in India perform and or live upto their brand image … else the advertisers will go away and the public opinion rules … the over all scenario is same but the decision making and hence the results are different …

Though there have been many crazy things in Pakistan, they always had a quality team to field. Dubai 2021 unleashed something.... Rizwan becoming Captain will actually make it come full circle. This is a great show and I have been watching it regularly. 18:30 I have been doing research on 'The influence of Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) in Pakistan Cricket' for over a year now. It was actually Saeed Anwar who after his new born daughter's death joined the TJ. According to Shahryar Khan's book, after this Saeed Anwar started to force other players to indulge in religious arguments. In 2002, it was Anwar who brought Maulana Tariq Jamal into Pak team's dressing room and organized a session with other players for the very first time. Jamal got through to Inzamam and he also joined the TJ and rest is history. Since Inzi was the captain he forced other players to hold namaz openly in the field during foreign tours, he started using religious tit bits during post match ceremonies, he also spent significant amount of time trying to convert non Muslims. Influenced by Inzi more than 7 players of Pakistan national team officially joined the TJ between 2003 and 2007. According to then media manager PJ Mir and PCB chief Shahryar Khan, players like Younis Khan, Misbah ul Haq and Shoaib Akhtar didn't like this and it caused of rift between them and Inzi. Especially with Misbah, he was always on Inzi's radar as he was a Barelvi Sunni and didn't believe in public exhibition of his religious beliefs, on the other hand Inzi was a Deobandi Sunni who followed TJ and wanted other team members to public exhibit these things as much as possible. Bob Woolmer was also very much fed up of Inzi because of this and confided in Shahryar Khan and PJ Mir. Qamar Ahmed, a London based cricket journalist ho had been Bob's friend for 25 years and had covered 8 world cups with Pakistan team told ToI that in March 2007 that Bob was writing a 'tell-all' book titled 'Inshallah' in which he was going to disclose that how Pak players were more concerned about religion than cricket, and how their loyalties were more toward TJ leaders than their coach. But on 17 March 2007, after losing the match from Ireland when the team was returning to the hotel, Bob had a heated argument with the players and accidently disclosed this book thing... He as found dead the very next day.

I recall a statement from Shahid Afridi a few years back. He said Pakistan does not have talent. This is what we have. I observe that our cricketing system is incapable to produce technically sound players. Hardly any batsman we have produced is technically correct. Hardly any bowler we have produced is not objected for his bowling action. I think this team is a below average team as per international standards. The same team would had been exposed more if this was a 50 overs tournament. The confidence of players towards their standing in the team seems they pay a portion of their earnings to people who can kick them out of the team. Those guys wanted a bigger cut so a lot of noise in the media. Now as the noise is fading out looks like a new % is agreed upon
