Pakistan faces hottest summer in decades - BBC News

Temperatures have risen to more than 50C (122F) in Pakistan leading to serious water shortages, as the country battles an extreme heatwave.
In Cholistan, the droughts have led to the deaths of livestock - devastating the livelihoods of farmers in the region.
Some farmers have even spent their own money on systems to extract water from underground, but with little success.
Residents say if temperatures continue to rise, Pakistan's government will have to deal with a massive migration crisis as people move away from Cholistan.

The economic crisis in Sri Lanka, the effects of Covid in India, Nepal's economic crisis and the flooding in Bangladesh? The 2020s have so far not been good years for the Indian subcontinent.
@SenorSol

Nothing to do with massive populations? Pakistan is a basket case specifically because of being a theocracy, Bangladesh is also a theocracy but it's economy is improving massively due to its garment industry, but India's problems are down to its population having doubled TWICE in the space of half a century and the current government's ridiculous and backwards Hindutva agenda that prioritises petty religious squabbles and constantly looking backwards instead of development and infrastructure, which is precisely why China has left India in its dust! The other thing that does for the subcontinent is the endemic and all-pervasive corruption which seems to be a cultural thing that they can't get past nor eradicate, unfortunately.

@@sammcclain752 Not sure that's true, Pakistan and China have always been 'issues' for India, they've both fought wars with India (Pakistan multiple times), but I think the current geopolitical situation is more a need for India to forge stronger ties with the west as a counterbalance to the rise of China and their aggression and territorial expansion. India has no such territorial ambitions but constantly has to be on it's guard against Chinese incursions into their eastern border regions, and also Pakistan trying to provoke India and take over the entire Kashmir valley.

Nonsense NB, the climate has always changed, where have you been. Yes you do get hot and cold, dry and floods but you always have, it’s a case of managing the situation and improving your infrastructure to cope with the situation you are faced with. For example over here in the Uk we would also run out of water if we didn’t build reservoirs. Additionally if the population was 200 million we would have massive problems. These countries simply need to take responsibility and fix their infrastructure.

That’s valid NB, these countries just need to bite the bullet and spend some cash on improving infrastructure. What’s not helping is the current ultra extreme green movement who are acting like two year olds and in the process self sabotaging the whole environmental argument. Yes the world could be a better place but blocking roads and banging drums in the city is not the way to fix it. The current green drive has done zero for the environment but a massive amount for politicians to rob tax payers with fake green taxes.

Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution. Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. Education and birth control are key to reducing poverty and hunger. Having a child that you can not provide for yourself is cruel and irresponsible. We need solutions not just sympathy. Endless population growth is not sustainable on a finite planet. Every country needs to "TRY" to be more self sufficient. When there are not enough resources to sustain a population something has to give. Countries need to focus on quality of life for their citizens and not just quantity of life for cheap labor.

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, & glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, & with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

I'm old enough to remember the 2022 heatwave..... What a day that was! But I digress.... Carbon dioxide is the most important of all atmospheric gases, best known for photosynthesis. CO2 supports all life on earth. It produces the oxygen we breath & gives body structure for all plants & invertebrates. CO2 is in long-term decline, a genuine crisis facing the world.

Dear Zelensky , 😇😇😇 Death tells God is there ,, Immortal We are mortal,, We need His help,, Man sins and judgment is inevitable,, But those who dependant upon jesus is saved Zelensky will see good days in his life ,, God bless you sir God is there God must be there ,,, Because man dies ,, So God immortal is there ,, Man and women ,,tress birds and animals,, Man speaks different languages ,, This tells God ,, Jesus assured us of Eternal life ,, We must believe,, We must believe God and praise him In my past life I got lot of doubts regarding our faith because of a alien's wireless science,,( unbelief,,) Here I had gone through lot of hostility ( Hebrew 12,),, This you should think always when you face threats or persecutions,,,( jesus christ our example,) I said to myself what Paul apostle said about he gets comfort from God so that he ,they could comfort others who are in trouble,,,( I thought,) It is a big lie( may be) because I have no comforts,,, But after many years of dark situation,, God began to speak to me ,, Many verses,, But one verse in Romans ( there will be agony to mankind who do evil ,,)( I can say God touched me or spoke to me or comforts,,or a word of hope or faith or peace ,,) gave me hope upon God ,,it is a After this many verses comforting me ,, comfort from God ,I believed God is trust worthy,, So from minus degree ,,, Now I have comfort ,,( but there were no sign of hope in the past ,,) But now comforts through verses ,, In the similar way ,, Bible says ,we will be like Jesus son of God ,, Just imagine,, This will be true ,,as the word of God comforts,, 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The Indian subcontinent is undergoing definite changes. Now I am not sure if it is just because of human induced climate change. The Indian plate is active and continues to push northwards with the Himalayas ever increasing in height. Himalayas plays a massive role in the global climate pattern. How active the Indian plate tectonics has become can be gauged from increasing earthquakes from Afghanistan to Pakistan to Nepal to Sichuan province of China. While definitely there is a climate change, it has to be thoroughly researched whether all this is from man made causes or natural, geological phenomena like the active Indian plate tectonics and changing climate patterns in the Indian ocean. Let’s not forget that the Indian plate is the fastest of all the plates to move. And, this extraordinary surge to further move northward continues. Expect more earthquakes and severe climate changes. Humans cannot prevent changes on a geological scale. We could not even handle Covid properly. We are definitely not going to handle any geological scale event. So, what we should strive for is how to adapt quickly to such catastrophic changes.

Climate changes are man made. Scientists tell us that the greenhouse gasses we let out are changing the balance of the climate, there's consensus about it. We are starting several self-perpetuating processes such as the diminished amount of ice on the Arctic Ocean reflects less sunlight so the sea heat up. Tectonics change things much slower except if an earthquake changes the course of a river or the like. If the Himalayas are increasing in height (I believe they do when you say so) it should make the glaciers grow but they are shrinking as they are melting because of the climate change. About 2 bill. people depend on food produced in farms that are depending on stable melting water from the Himalaya glaciers, therefore I think it is very important and urgent that we reduce our outlet of greenhouse gasses. The danish government and the Indian government have recently agreed to work together on green transition, there's a lot of know how in the field in Denmark.

@@jensstergard9380 Maybe. But the governments of this world could not even handle a virus properly in the 21st century. We still are not advanced enough, despite all the self congratulations and hubris humans give to themselves. More advanced technology is needed to enhance all people’s lives without causing any geological imbalance. We need technology to tap Earth’s internal heat on a mass scale. Can underwater jet streams power turbines? Can we live in a naturally cool way without resorting to air conditioners? Maybe mass technology will catch up but given how poor the governments are in dealing with people’s problems - the world is suffering from food and energy crisis now - who exactly is going to listen to them in solving climate change problems - natural or man-made? Humanity has not advanced enough and intellectually matured enough to tackle planet scale problems. Maybe get that multi-country fusion reactor to work, and we shall see.

@@backpropagation8365 Covid-19 was handled in a fine way in Denmark, we were as good as out of it in January. This was the a combination of competent leadership and a wealthy country. More people have died than usually dies from the flue but that's life. You mention Earths internal heat, we do use that in Denmark but it's only profitable certain places. Politicians that I support have decided this spring to rise 150 GW wind turbines in the North Sea, that's the energy needed for 200 mill. households in round figures. It's a co-operation between four countries agreed about in Esbjerg. When it comes to know-how in sustainable energy I can recommend the YT-channel 'Just have a Think'. I am also worried about people being too poorly educated to vote for adequate politicians. I just think it is important to not loose the spirit.

@@jensstergard9380 You have pretty much explained humanity’s problem. Like Covid, climate change is a global problem. Just like small countries winning the covid battle is of no consequence to covid across the planet which still continues, climate change is also a global problem which will remain even if solved by small jurisdictions. And this is where the highly divided humanity by class, by wealth, by ideology, by religion, by gender etc will not be able to pull together. And that’s exactly what we saw with the Covid virus - humanity just could not get together to detect early and prevent. Currently, humanity lacks the sophistication, harmony and tools to prevent global catastrophes. Heck we have a war going on Ukraine which is starving people of grains and driving food prices sky high. And the global community is not able to pull together to solve this. And here we are talking about a universal effort to solve a much bigger problem. As a civilization, we have not matured yet. Until that maturity happens, climate changes are going to continue to cause massive, planet scale, humanity threatening catastrophes. There is no escaping that, unfortunately.

Who is to be blamed for this? These things have became an everyday news for us. The more we dream of civilization the more we ruin ourselves. It's bitter but true. If it wasn't for all the industries from the first world countries, Pakistan wouldn't be in this situation today.
