Pakistan: Japanese Workers Escape Suicide Blast Attack in Karachi | Vantage with Palki Sharma
In Pakistan's Karachi, five Japanese nationals escaped a suicide blast attack on their vehicle on April 19. The police killed the suicide bomber in retaliatory fire. This is not the first attack on foreign nationals working in Pakistan. Reportedly, Islamist militants, who seek to overthrow the government and set up their own rigid form of Islamic rule, have been responsible for several such brutal attacks over the past few years. Some of these separatist groups are targeting foreigners. In recent months, there have been frequent attacks on Chinese workers in the country. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the attack and praised the police for their timely action.
