Transplants of children are included along with male and female. There are 16 child transplants and 6 swap transplants. Swap means families whose blood does not match, other families donate. PKLI was established for the first time in Pakistan. Before this, liver and kidney transplants were done in private hospitals in Pakistan, most of the families used to go to India for the transplant, the patient and their family members had to face problems to get the transplant from India, the problem of not getting a visa. Sometimes there was a problem of tension in the country, the biggest problem was when the families needed millions of rupees for the transplant, they used to get the transplant done by collecting supplies and funds at home. Built the first Pakistan Kidney and Liver in Lahore where 70% free transplants have been done while 30% patients have given 2.2 million rupees, PKLI has all operation theater rooms according to international standards, apart from transplant surgeons, PKLI 12 patients died in transplant, 5 patients died of infection. PKLI has facilities for urology, pathology, endoscopy, abdominal scan, other tests and general surgery. There is also an emergency room, but only registered patients are seen in the emergency room.
