Usually home team has the advantage but 92 edition, Aus were good but they had to face tough bowling. with the big grounds , bouncy tracks, bowlers got a lot more wickets and gave away very few runs. batsmen struggled here. probably the last WC where bowlers won the tournament and not batsmen like they did in the later WC editions.

Imran was one of the greatest allrounders of his time. Please dont judge his skills by his performance in the 1992 cup, that was his last appearance and he was already 38 years old then. Of course not as quick as he was in his 20's and early 30's

true, stats aren't everything but consider the definition of an all-rounder - Top order batsman and a strike bowler. Most of the all-rounders are top order batsmen but part time bowlers or strike bowlers and lower order batsmen. Jacq Kallis is the only one who fits the definition. For most of his career, he used to bat at No.3 and get his quota of 10 overs all the time, many a times opening the bowling attack.

Australia was simply woeful in this series. Some have suggested they threw the tournament. The constant selection of not international standard players such as Peter Tailer, Bruce Reid, Mike Whitney etc makes me wonder if there's any truth to this. At the end of the day I doubt it. This was when Dean Jones, AB, Boon, Craig McDermott, Merv Hughes, Geoff Marsh etc were at the end of their careers but just before Warne, McGrath, Martyn, Langer, Hayden became regular inclusions. (beginning in '93)

Umpire Piloos Reporter from India was the culprit and he wasn't the best of the lot. He was what Steve Bucknor was in 2003. Not sure if we can generalize the fact that Umpires were partial to Whites.
