Pakistan working to reverse economic woes

Pakistan is grappling with one of its worst economic crises in years. The country managed to avoid a default in July after the IMF agreed to a standby bailout programme. But now a new hybrid civil-military forum is working on a new initiative it believes can revive the economy. Kamran Yousaf has the details.

Any gains made with any new foreign capital investments will only be temporary because the two dynastic political families and the top Generals in the military will siphon off the money to their families and private bank accounts. These people have an unquenchable thirst to suck the country dry to only line their own pockets. I feel so sorry for the ordinary Pakistanis who are hard working and talented having traveled through Pakistan exactly a year ago.

Pakistan should launch open tendor for 140 bn asset sale for other countries companies online. After competive bidding process govt should sell all roads, mines, lose making enterprises like PIA, Aksari and Fauji industries , Defense colonies, golf courses, sea and air ports to the highest bidder. Only this is solution. Those foreigners who will buy these assets will further put extra money to make these profitable or in working condition. Even govt didn't need to pay any debt to foreigners instead these 140 bn asset holders will pay taxes to Pakistan. Pakistan also need to stop subsiding lobby of sugar Mafia, real estate Mafia, textile mills and import export Mafia.
