Modi Govt has set target of being Carbon Neutral by 2030 Before 2014 India used to electrify the tracks @ 610km/year.. Now it's more 6000km/year India has electrified 71% of its tracks Goal is to 100% electrification of tracks by Dec, 2023 And gradually move from Diesel powered trains to electric powered.

India is bigger in area than Pakistan, travel through train is cheaper too, connectivity is better in India & service is acceptable, which now have improved significantly in the last 3-4 yrs. These r the reason why more people travel in trains in India in comparison to Paksitan

Vande bharat express operational speed is 130kmph not 180kmph. But it's top speed is 200kmph which is considered a norm for High speed railways.

I am surprised to know that many sections and Railway Stations have been closed in Pakistan since Partition. But in India, no such thing happened. e.g. Railway line from Ferozepur to Hussainiwala which used to go to Lahore via Kasur- Raiwind- Walton Cantt. - Lahore is well preserved even today. On Matrydom day of Shaheed Bhakat Singh i.e. 23 March and Vaisakhi 13 April every year, Special Mela trains run to take people to National Martyr's Memorial at Hussainiwala. The Indian Railway played a very important role and contributed a lot to help mass tranportation at fraction of cost of Road transportation.
