My son appeared for JEE 2020, entrance exam for IIT, he scored 98.765 percentile. Still there are ~10,000 student between him and 100% wala first. Another round pending.... Due to that difference of 1.235 percent less than100%, things are difficult for us as we don't come from reserved category, we are general open category people.

Your son will succeed only in the field of his passion. If genuinely interested in Science and Tech, he will definitely succeed from any good college. On the other hand, if it's parental pressure it would be very hard to maintain with academics at IITs. I have been through JEE and been an IITian. There are other complications like Suicidal Tendencies among IIT grads. Don't blame reservations at any cost though, I was a general candidate who cleared my JEE in my first attempt.

This comment represents a special class of IITians they are arrogant, rude and think that they are better than the whole world. Once they go out and face the world they get to know that apart form the opportunities and the resources they had acces to during their time at IIT, they are no different than a regular Joe. Sadly around 20-30 % of IITians are like this.
