Honestly, back in the BCE, Indian subcontinent was solely resided by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. First Muslim in the region was in the 7th century and majority of Muslims came to India during the Mughal invasion. That’s centuries later so yeah I don’t think there is any credit to be given to the people of Pakistan for this achievement. You might think this is a hate comment but it is not. I just felt like the “we” was not justified. Secondly, India is a secular nation and will always remain. There are plenty of right wing Hindus that are nationalists but they aren’t extremists. There is a big difference. Even the right wing Hindus want to keep India a secular nation but at the same time protect it from losing it’s identity, history and culture. Because of our lenient mentality over the years, we have been invaded many times throughout history and the right just wants to avoid that going forward. We don’t can’t bear anymore external invasions and most definitely won’t accept an internal rebellions. You can be secular but you still need to keep quality control. There are extremists as well but they are in very minute quantity and when you consider the entire population of the nation, they are almost irrelevant.
