Actually the movie did not show the truth. Bajirao's marriage with Mastani was political in nature and not romantic like its depicted here. Mastani was never allowed to live in Shaniwar Wada, she left in another mahal. Bajirao was one of the finest military generals of India who expanded the Maratha empire and fought 41 battles in his lifetime without losing a single one.

Right 👍 SLB made a fantastic movie, no doubt. But yes in reality Bajirao never had time for romance. As you said he was the finest Peshwa and spent a lot of time on battlefield. This mastani episode was small part of his life. Yes this became kala dhabba.Though Haa mastani ke sath romance bhi tha ese nahi tha ki bilkul political relation tha.😊 But thankfully he always respected kashibai 👍😊

​@@mash6943 Mastani was kept as a mistress only n it was his duty to take her responsibility as her father had gifted her to him in a political alliance. The privileged one was Kashi only. Bajirao never took Mastani anywhere with him but Kashi always accompanied him to Satara, in state visits. Mastani had only one child in 10 years but Kashi bore him 3 children after Mastani's arrival also. Bajirao never wrote any letter to Mastani but his letters written to his wife are available. Samsher got the jagir of Banda from his Peshwa father but how many people know that Banda was not even part of Maratha kingdom. Banda was part of Bundelkhand. Bajiraone Samsherko Zansi nahi diya. Even Zansi came from Chhatrasal n Bajirao annexed it to Maratha kingdom but Samsher was not given even that. Bajirao gave bigger jagirs to Holkar, Ranoji Shinde, Raghuji Bhosle n Pawar brothers than his son. Isnt that surprising? Mastani was given revenue of only 2 villages. Historical facts are totally different than fictional love story. I seriously think bollywood should not be allowed to make films on historical figures.
