Maithili is singing the classical way of singing Aigiri Nandita stotram. Sanskrit scholars sing it the way Maithili sang. Also Maithili pronounces the Sanskrit words exactly as they should be ( spasht bol) compared to people like Parampara. This rendition is how all Sanskrit singer will render this stotram ( prayer)

Durgaashtmi is the 8th day of Durgapuja and Vijaya Dashami is the 10th day of the festival. The shloka is in Sanskrit language like most Hindu hymns. Durga puja is celebrated across India in different ways. But for people of West Bengal, Odisha, Assam and other eastern states, it's huge and the most awaited festival of the year. For us it's like mother visiting her children, so the festivities are grand because of the emotional connection.

That is right , Sri Ram chose the holy days of Durashtami to wage the war on Ravana so that he can invoke the mother goddess in his similar war for Dharma. Sri Ram fought Ravan for seven days and killed him on the 7th day. Durgaji fought Mahishasura over 15 days over which he kept changing his form and he was finally killed when he took the form of a Mahisha i.e Buffalo. That is why DUrgaji is also known as Mashisasura Mardini (Killer of Mahisha Asur)
