In Delhi mobile Apps are there to help you direct to the nearest wash room. There is a law that washrooms of all hotels , five star or other, restaurants, are available for use of public. In addition, now very clean public toilets are there. Even there are exclusive toilets for ladies Toilet facility is a must for all petrol stations.

I was born in south India and after college, migrated to US in the 1970s. Last year I visited Delhi, Jaipur, Agra. These places especially Delhi is a place where I felt extremely uncomfortable with travelling alone. So, I can relate to these young European girls feeling uncomfortable feeling. These places men have a tendency to stare at women as they have never seen women. Dishonest taxy , rikshaw operators and shop keepers add to the unease. Generally, people in Delhi have uncouth behavior when compared to Mumbai people and southerners.
