The chandan which is being talking about in this movie is not Sandalwood but it is Redwood, also called Rakt chandan because of its dark red colour. It is a very expensive wood only naturally grown in Seshachalam forests of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh, India. This wood is being used to make high end and high value musical instruments, furniture, etc. It's also being used in medicines, cosmetics, toiletries, etc. These things are also being said in this movie itself.
