The Great Domingo is always wonderful in this role. How he manages to find the emotions yet again to cry, and then sing while crying, remains a mystery to me. I'm grateful for his artistry all the same. And Scotto is such a wonderful actress, her performances are always a treat. This opera doesn't have a lot of good music for them to sing, but when they get to sing, its glorious to hear. It's a tragic story that could easily be boring in the wrong hands. Bravi!

I'm afraid I'm a Scotto "groupie!!" When she's good.....she's uniquely outstanding!! Her recording of Adrianna and Maddalena reduces me to tears like no other, and the CBS "Duets" recording with Domingo, is outstanding.........

Domingo is on fire and Scotto's pianissimi are chillingly dramatic. Here she is a great singing actress, no semaphore, no exaggeration. She is Fedora.

Let's hope this comes out soon on DVD. Preserving these videos only on KZbin is not enough.
