Dear Suneel saahib, thank you for your enlightening videos. We learn a lot from you by the day. Since I have owned the 2005 VTi Oriel of this version, allow me to offer my amateur opinion: (1) My friend in metallurgy measured it’s metal thickness with vernier callipers. He compared it with his 2005 Corolla XLi. Honda had a thicker sheet. Similarly his Corolla’s suspension had to repaired before my Civic’s, as I ended up selling it (to buy a Reborn) without any work ever being needed on the suspension. (2) The best consumption figures are obtained at driving @2500 rpm or so. I used to drive on M2 at that rate and it gave me ~16 km/litre without air-conditioning & ~15 km/litre with the air-conditioner on. Try it. (My friend’s XLi never went beyond 13 km/litre under similar conditions. (3) The word is Prosmatec (which stands for “progressive shift schedule management technology”) and it is pronounced PROZ MA TECH not proz matic. Keep up the good work sir. Much appreciated

I sold this model of civic around the time this video was posted for 11.5 lacs. We bought it brand new in 2004, VTI Prosmatic. The major problems I faced were with its radiator (cleaned it twice, replaced it the third time), ac compressor, transmission (115000km) and it’s steering rack.

Great review Sunil sir. i have this car i am using it on petrol through out from last 6 years . it had cng from the previous owners when i bought this car main ny ismai sy cng complete with wireing and piping niklwa di thi and i changed its complete throtal body. and i am getting 15-16km/L with ac on High ways . And i am not joking i have EXI prosmatec. Speed bumps py isky main bush back suspension k awaz krty hain other wise the car is Love, handling comfort everthing is good . Its a good family car in this budget.

I'm brazilian. I've had a Civic of this model (Year 2004). Differentiated maintenance car, not any mechanic who can work on this engine. Spare parts are a bit expensive, because parallel parts are not quality.

This is totally not a budget car. Such vehicles require extra care and spare parts ain't cheap. This is Pakistan. You have to deal with these things in exchange for pleasure. These alloy wheels came from 2003 genius. Back crystal lights came in 2003. Front lights were changed in 2004. EXI too came with a CD changer. There is no weird suspension noise with this model and ground clearance of this car is fine being a Civic. Civics do have a lower ground clearance compared to Corolla. That is why road grip is better compared to a Corolla. Corolla on the other hand is a rough and tough car but lacks comfort and handling. People follow such reviewers blindly because they themselves lack knowledge.

In 2004 when biedge interior was introduced..the car also got faceuplift..it was not faceuplifted in 2005. The generation continued till 2006 same when in 2006 new generation was launch..civic reborn

Honda City i.DSI variant which came from 2003 to 2008 had CVT i.e Continuously Variable Transmission (VARIO) rather than normal 4 speed automatic Transmission .
