কারিগরি ডিপ্লোমা ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এবং প্রতিটি এলাকায় কারিগরি শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান প্রতিষ্ঠার মধ্য দিয়ে দক্ষ জনগোষ্ঠী তৈরিতে কাজ করা দরকার। সেই দক্ষ জনগোষ্ঠী যাতে বিদেশে যাওয়ার পথ সুগম হয় সেই পথটা প্রশস্ত করা দরকার।

In Singapore and Canada after High school (grade 12), most of the students join community colleges or technical institutions to study trades for two to three years. After the course, they can join apprenticeship or go to University (with credit) if someone can afford. Bangladeshis need to think what is the service we will get by teaching certain subjects in the university and colleges.

This is the first time I hear policy maker talking sense. My experience in Singapore and Canada shows if I the worker knows maching or welding or heavy duty equipment operator, he could earn about $3500 a month. But graduate workers come as cleaner earns about $1200 a month. Same in Canada, Phd degree holders are relying on welfare money where nurses, electricians, refrigeration technicians are earning over $90000 a year. When i advise my relatives to study those subjects and get admitted in polytechnic institutions, they feel uncomfortable and join MBA or philosophy in NU.
