Hawa Mahal, the palace of winds was made by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the grandson of Sawai Jai Singh II who was the founder of Jaipur, The City of Kings and also the capital of Rajasthan. The architect of this palace was Lal Chand Ustad.
Heck no...that sounds way too boring, so let's write again!
The story of Hawa Mahal begins with Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the grandson of Jaipur's founder Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, and also the person who (probably) came up with the idea of making Hawa Mahal, The Palace of Winds. So, he summoned Lal Chand Ustad to make Hawa Mahal (The Palace of Winds) for the women...of course royal women! Lal Chand Ustad (probably) scrached his head (not because he had an itch, but because that's the way architects think) and envisioned a light, airy, "Instagram-worthy" palace...just kidding! And thus, the construction started!
Well, while Hawa Mahal is being constructed, let's have a quick rundown over Jaipur's history: Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II summoned the architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, who is from almost the other side of not the world, but India- he was from West Bengal, which is ironically a state in the eastern side of India (it actually has a history), and the reason I just said "the other side of India" is because Rajasthan is in the North-Western side of India (er, just see the map). So yeah, that's basically how Jaipur was made!
Okay, so we hope that the construction of Hawa Mahal is done till now, and seriously it's done (yeah, you can see it). And, here's not-the-first video of Hawa Mahal!
Don't forget to lik-...no, we don't do it here. Well, just enjoy the video!
