This test shows how much variance there is between same fights. A lot of these civs had the same stat paladins yet the result differt quite a bit 3-7 paladin left)

It's a waste of time that you included all the generic Paladins in the fights (Persians, Huns etc..... Cumans(only move speed so its irrelevant)). Should put only 1 generic Pala, like Spanish for example, and then no need for other generic ones. Could have filled the slots with malian cavalier and bulgarian Byzantine and Celt is okay because its interesting to see palas without upgrades.

Movespeed isn't entirely irrelevant when searching for new enemies after defeating another, but other than that you're right: just lumping together Spanish, Persians, Magyars, Huns, etc (i.e. generic FU) makes more sense.

@@Gloriath1 Move speed is a lot more relevant in melee vs ranged fights. Cuman paladins will do better than Hun paladin against Arbs and other ranged units (especially CA), but not so much against other melee units.

@@slayer65xd what? crap is taking it very far they get an incredible early boost and its very difficult to outmatch them after that because you have to keep youre knights/chavaliers alive while they just need to trade against you and dont have to stop production. and if it goes late in a teamgame they can transition into Konniks which strong aswell. espacialy in 1vs1 they dominate.

I definitely would have liked to have seen the special cavaliers in this video: 1) Malians with Farimba 2) Bulgarians with Stirrups 3) Berbers (equal resources) My guess is Malians and Berbers come close while Bulgarians still lose. Those could be topics for a later time. Also could have done without every one of the generic fully upgraded ones- just include one. I do appreciate the Lithuanians with and without relics though. Would have been cool to see them with 1, 2, and 3 relics to see the exact point where they get better. My guess is 2 relics. Crazy how effective that extra melee armor is for the Teutons.

The bonus was a lot stronger in the past: 20% even before Blood Lines existed, woch make in the original AoK that all paladin civ had 160 hp paladins, except Franks that had 192 hp. After AoE The Conquerors that changed and the appear of blood lines make some other paladins have 180 hp, reducing a lot the gap, however now we have halberdiers and Hersirs for vikings, so 1 on 1 I guess, except for franks. In that case _I agree with you_ and the bonus should be a little bit better

You should just make 1 fight and called it "generic FU paladin" since Magyar, Huns, Spanish, Persians and Cumans dont have any bonus at all, they're all the same. That will also free time to add Malians and Bulgarians cavalliers

It is sad now after Lithuanian released and Teuton Paladin buff frank paladin not even that strong anymore (only has 12 more hp than full upgrade generic paladin). Franks Cavalry in general need to be buff IMHO...

Franks still have a great economy, cheap castles and faster stables. Still a stronger civ than Lithuanians. Don't forget franks have fully upgraded infantry as well while lithuanians do not.

They have axemen which are excellent anti-anti cav. I think they struggle against massed range units especially gunpowder.

Bulgarians are an elite cavalry civilization and they get paladin taken away from them and instead of giving them an upgrade that cannot even match a paladin! Meanwhile, Teutons who are an infantry civilization, somehow have paladin and get to keep it throughout the updates that come. Even worse is that they get buffed by having +2 melee armour!

I actually like the change. Bulgarians now have a huge power spike as soon as they get to imperial age, 1v1 games rarely get to the point of using Paladins, and now for the late game (and team games) there is an incentive to play konniks, wich can be spam from krepost.

Bulgarians cavalier with higher attack rate are still incredible. Paladins are not only a matter of being a cavalry civ, but also a tradition on knighthood that the franks and germans had.
